WEEK 3 - METAL TORUS MAKING
INTRODUCTION
This week we were going to increase the metal making skills, which was creating an aluminum sheet to adhere to the contours of a torus/reversed curve. In this way, to make the aluminum sheet is bent in different directions.
The image shows the final work I have been done in this week.
In the following content, I will show all the steps that how to make the aluminum sheet become a torus.
The final object will be the perfect torus

In the following content, I will show all the steps that how to make the aluminum sheet become a torus.
STEP 1
Firstly, make the aluminum sheet is wrapped on a cylindrical abrasive tool and then bent so that the aluminum sheet is tightly attached to the abrasive tool.

STEP 2
Use the metal hammer to strike the middle of the aluminum sheet to make it concave and match the notch of the abrasive tool. By constantly moving, make the middle portion of the entire aluminum sheet is recessed and two sides are kept inwardly curve.

STEP 3
Place the edge of the tapped aluminum sheet on the house shoe metal abrasive tool, and strike the two sides of the aluminum sheet along the abrasive tool with the metal hammer so that the two sides can match the curvature of the abrasive tool. By constantly moving, make all the two sides follow it.
